Calvary's About Page

History

Calvary Evangelical Missionary Church celebrated her 100th birthday in 1999.  First established as the Beulah Mission, she has known many name changes reflecting denominational mergers.  Other names have included City Mission, Calvary Mennonite Brethren in Christ, Calvary United Missionary, and Calvary Missionary.  The Church has also had four locations.

Our Future

Our God has provided a unique neighborhood where He has called us to minister.  We share facilities and work together with our largest neighbor, West Hill Secondary School, Dozens of young families, many with single parents, live within easy walking distance.  Apartment buildings with active seniors are close by.  To facilitate expansion of meaningful programs for all our neighbors, our church family voted (February, 2001) to expand our facility.

Our building addition has created a
 larger facility for community programs

A large multi-purpose room began construction on June 23, 2002. We now have more room for our growing children's, student and family programs.  A new nursery and additional classroom space assist our dynamic Bible Study ministry.

Our congregation is excited as we join
with God in those areas where we see
Him working
